About These National Development Schemes

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is a unique public-private partnership model: rather than running training centres itself, it funds and accredits training partners across the country, sets skill standards, and administers schemes like PM Vishwakarma for traditional artisans. This is why so many local training institutes — including computer and vocational training centres — are NSDC-affiliated or follow NSDC-aligned curricula.

PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana), launched in 2000, focuses on a different but related development goal: connecting India's unconnected rural habitations with all-weather roads. Reliable road connectivity directly affects whether rural students can reach schools, training centres and exam venues consistently, which is why road infrastructure and digital/skills infrastructure are often discussed together in rural development policy.

How It Works

NSDC-aligned training

Many vocational and computer courses across India follow NSDC-set skill standards, making certifications portable and recognised nationally.

PM Vishwakarma access

Traditional artisans can register through NSDC's PM Vishwakarma portal for toolkits, training and collateral-free loans.

PMGSY road status

Check the progress of rural road connectivity projects in your district through the official PMGSY tender portal.

Tip: If you're from a rural area and travel is a barrier to regular classes, ask our team about flexible batch timings — better connectivity under schemes like PMGSY is gradually making regular attendance easier for students further from town centres.
